.40 S&W/10mm 140 Gr. FP - Sized to .401 (Typical). Other sizes available upon request call or email for options.
This is the lightest .40 S&W/10mm bullet we offer. Great bullet for “Steel” Shooting. Very Accurate as well.
3000 Count - Case
Bullets are very good, accurate with a slight increase in velocity. The fast delivery and attention to my order was outstanding. Ordered 3000 rounds with 3 different colors and wanted to see if they would accommodate, like I said "outstanding". Unknown on 10th Sep 2017
This review is more about the first order. Just started getting ready to start shoot steel challenge at the range I am a member at and bought a thousand of these bullets to try. I have shoot about 750 of them with 7.3 grs of Silhouette powder. Several 10 shot strings that I checked are producing an average of 1051fps. I will look no further for bullets for my XD(M) 5.25. As the headline states this is my second order. Shipped to Anchorage Alaska for 15 dollar.. I'm sure my postman will come to hate me.. Bob Cope on 7th Sep 2017
If you want to shoot minor with a 40 Smith & Wesson it's hard to beat this one 40 grain bullet. The truncated cone feeds beautifully in Glock's and 1911s. They shoot 4 inch groups at 20 yards with my Glock 35. This bullet is pretty light for 40 caliber but it works well with the factory Glock barrel and aftermarket Glock barrels. I do get leading in my Glock barrel because of the poly agonal rifling, but it safe to shoot as long as you clean your pistol after each match. There is no leading in the aftermarket barrel and in my 1911 40 pistol. Try the bayou 140s . It makes my 40 almost as light a recoil as my 9 mm. NorCal Mark on 10th Feb 2017
I love this bullet for IDPA in ESP division. With 4 grains of Titegroup at 1.130 OAL, it comes in at a power factor of 135 in my 5 inch 1911. It's plenty accurate and the barrel is mirror clean after a few strokes with the brush and a tight patch. That truncated cone profile feeds flawlessly too!
Try this bullet. It's a winner. ESP Mark on 13th Jul 2016
Really happy with these light weights in .40 Smith. I've ran about 1000 in the last two weeks in a Glock 22 racegun (LW Glock 35 threaded barrel with TF sight block 5.8in) and 23 carry gun.
Running almost the same load with WST as I run with 180s. Seated about 1.110 OAL The accuracy is what really got me, ran 5 separate 5 shot groups from a bench @ 25yds. They all hovered 1.5-2.5 in. Ill take that all day long. HI-TEK lube is great! Low smoke indoors, and a Glock brush with a lil juice down the bore and your clean enough to shoot another session.
I'm very pleased. Thank you for making great bullets! Mike PZ on 13th Apr 2016
I switched to these from Montana Gold jackets solely for price, but they've been more accurate, take less powder to make power factor, and the service is superb. Orders come right away and good order tracking is sent right to your email so you know exactly when they'll be at your doorstep. Unknown on 17th Jun 2015
These bullets shoot flawlessly in my Trojan 5 and God knows 1911 in 40S&W can be finnicky and hard to feed sometimes. I have not had any issue with these as soon as I found the right OAL. They are very accurate and leave the barrel very clean. Nick Verhaeghe on 9th Dec 2014
Initially tried Bayou Bullets as a cost effective solution for practice and local matches. The claim was that they smoked less than regular cast bullets and about the same as jacketed (w/ lead base exposed) . It is very true! I use the 140gn for .40 minor as it provides a great recoil impulse that is not to snappy nor too slow and with a good powder combination such as 320, wst, solo 1000. I have very consistent, and accurate ammo that I am confident in using even at matches that count!
Also cleanup is a breeze. There is only powder residue to dispose of and no lead build up. I just run a dry boresnake through and it's good to go.
Cost efficient, accurate, less smoke, and easy clean up. All this and Donnie's outstanding customer service. This is why I keep coming back! Devon Penrod on 8th Dec 2014
Shooting this out of a 3 chamber 3 port compensator. I usually try to stay around 1300 fps (so my Shooting Chrony says). Have taken another company's "HI-TEK" 140 grn offering to over 1400 fps. Barrel and compensator stays pretty clean. After over 1500 rounds from both the other company and Bayou, only slightly more build up in my comp than jacketed bullets. But, I get better accuracy from "HI-TEK" coated bullets than I do out of 155 or 165 grn Montana Gold JHPs at 25 yards. All I do to clean my comp is use a Q-Tip to swab on Kroil and Shooter's Choice to mop up the carbon fouling. With this 140 grn head, I usually use 8.5-9.0 grns Power Pistol or 9.2-9.8 grns LongShot. I have two compensated 1911 45s and a compensated STI 2011 38 Super. Bayou will be getting all of my "HI-TEK" business now that they have upgraded/updated their website...don't have to call them anymore. I'll be trying this head out on 40SW "non-compensated" pistols...maybe when I put in another order for 3000 140grn 10mm Bayou bullets...should be soon. Dinosaur on 21st Aug 2014
